  Hi Ron,

  Aside from the very real tragedy that took place, what is even more sickening in my view is that this is the type of thing that the WT can get a lot of good mileage out of. On a local level, the elders will no doubt use this opportunity to remind everyone that sometimes true Christians have to face situations like this...blah, blah, blah...BUT LIKE THIS DEAR SISTER DID, they will show their true loyalty to Jehovah (insert Headquarters) by refusing to compromise even if it means death, more blah, blah, blah....

  And even if the media generates a lot of negative attention for the local JWs, heck that's all for the better. "You will be hated on account of my name" PERSECUTION! Now, that's something the WT can make even more mileage out of, especially if it draws national attention. More bang for your buck, as far as the WTS is concerned. Every circuit assembly will manage to work this into one of their discourses, I'm sure, as motivation for the flock.

  How sad indeed that an incident like this will beget more of the same.

  a few days ago, mom tells me she's visiting a new kh.

  according to her account, all the pioneer sisters are asking about "me" (we don't remember the name, but your daughter that used to come to meetings.

  ) ps #1 says "we're missing you, tell her we say hi.

  Yeah, well that just goes to show you how genuine their "concern" is, doesn't it...

  You see how the conversation progressed from seemingly genuine interest about your welfare....to "she was never one of us". How sad.

  we are playing for the gold again... for the third year in a row.... and guess who we're playing against tomorrow.. monday... the usa.

  British Columbia bud has a general reputation of being second to none worldwide. As soon as our government decriminalizes the possession of weed, how 'bout coming up here and trying a few samples for yourself...

  I have a long-time buddy who lives in Colorado and every time he's come up here he can't believe how good our shit is

  We got good beer too(in deference to the Aussies and the Brits, they've got darn fine suds too)

  a strange thought came to mind when conversing with a fellow poster here on the phone the other night.

  the conversation was about enviroment, culture, and society....... and it's effects on human behavior, desire, and thinking.. here is the scenario....................after jehovah put adam in the garden and just before he made eve........lets say he did it this way.

  god makes adam......then after adam gets a bit lonely and horney........god brings to him a male and a female he also made from the dust.

  they are very explicit in nature.. don't they realize that there are many children in the audience that are not really ready to hear this particular information?.
